Mexican food was listed by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity in recognition of the complex gastronomic-cultural heritage that combines ritual practices, age-old skills, culinary techniques and ancestral community customs and manners, it involves the entire traditional food chain: from planting and harvesting to cooking and eating.
Traditional Mexican food creates bonds, a sense of pride and belonging and solidarity, and these are the values that are transmitted from one generation to the next.
